Jordan Barowitz

Jordan Barowitz has spent over 25 years untangling some of the most complicated problems at the nexus of New York City government, politics, policy, real estate, civic life and media.  

He is a veteran of half a dozen political campaigns and spent nine years at City Hall as communications director for the New York Council and first deputy press secretary for Mayor Michael Bloomberg. At City Hall he oversaw communications on the smoking ban, the property tax increase and the MTA transit strike. For 16 years he oversaw public affairs for The Durst Organization, one of New York’s largest family-owned real estate developers, owners and operators. 

Jordan ran numerous complex rezonings and entitlements of some of New York’s largest projects. He helped win the RFP for the development of One World Trade Center and helped transform “Ground Zero” into the “World Trade Center” and One World Trade Center from an icon of skepticism into one of New York’s most successful commercial office buildings.

He is life-long New Yorker who attended New York City public schools.
